Specialist pruning of trees and shrubs is where my passion and skills feel most at home. Following my early training and work I developed a keen interest in plant forms and how they can be managed and manipulated. This interest, along with my time spent in Japan, drew me to the work of Jake Hobson and his company, Niwaki. Their work and equipment instantly impressed me. The ease of use and smooth action of their secateurs make work a pleasure. Alongside their Japanese ethos and philosophy of nature connection and thoughtful approach to work is fully compatible with my own work ethic. My work now focuses on a hybrid Niwaki style. This involves work on a range of different trees creating an open Japanese style.
