Having designed and managed gardens, as well as developed and delivered training from the Royal Horticultural Society and The Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh to the Eden Project in Cornwall, Rupert Bannister now also provides remote online garden consultations. Tailored support to help you achieve the very best from your garden.

Rupert blend of hands-on experience and proven teaching ability will build your confidence, deepen youur understanding of your garden and guide you to achieve lasting success. His support is tailored to your needs from comprehensive garden consultations and bespoke planting design plans to practical plant health guidance, composting advice and the specialist pruning of shrubs and small trees. Our remote offer includes:

  • one-off guidance sessions – for example pruning or planting make over;

  • ongoing support and guidance – throughout the year and the changing seasons

  • sustainable horticulture guidance – helping you develop a more natural relationship with your garden.

How does it work?

You begin by filling out the form below and sharing the garden challenges you might be facing. This is followed by an initial 15 minute consultation with Rupert by phone or on WhatsApp, further guidance sessions are delivered via Microsoft Teams or Google Meet – all straight to your own home or indeed, garden.

How much does it cost?

An initial 15 minute consultation takes place by phone or WhatsApp, with follow-up sessions delivered via Microsoft Teams or Google Meet – all from the comfort of your home.

  • Initial 15 min phone consultation: Free
  • Follow up consultation (approx 1 hour): £55

  • Follow up consultation and basic report (300 words): £85

  • Follow up consultation and in-depth report (500 words): £180

  • Planting design consultation: £80 – £325

Please note that 50% advance payment is required.

Our remote garden consultancy

Rupert Bannister offers the following online consultancy services.

  • Full garden consultation – you’ll need to share good quality images or video at least ten days prior

  • Planting design plans & advice
  • Plant health – including composting
  • Pruning advice for shrubs and small trees – good quality, close-up, images are important
